    Love story movies now become the most favorable movies for Indonesian. a lot of production houses produce romantic movie, as result now we can see those movie on cinema. That’s all because Romantic Movie really interested many people for this research, we use ayat-ayat cinta as an object. The purpose of this research is to know the connection between the gratification motives and the usage of media, and also for describe the gratification motives which fulfilled after watching ayat-ayat cinta.

    This research utilized use and gratification theory (usage and satisfaction theory) which is tended to Kart, Gurevitch and Haas approach and also bottom needs of human being theory by Abraham Maslow. The previous approach distinguished gratification motives to a four-kind such as cognitive needs (information gratification motives), social integrative needs (social integrative gratification motives), affective needs (aesthetics experience gratification motives) and escape needs (entertain gratification motives).

    In this research, we use communication UKSW. student population with 60 samples from 2004 to 2008 student who have watched Ayat - Ayat Cinta. We use questionnaire as a collect data technique and correlation product moment and pertial technique for analyze the data. After get the hypothesis, this research is examined by product moment and partial technique and we conclude that ” there is a positive and significant connection between gratification movie with usega media level in watching Ayat - Ayat Cinta because of having gratification motives. beside,the greatest deal of giving the most contribution is social integrative motives. The second, the result of partial correlation showed that gender did not really take a part to influence connection between gratification motives and media usages level.
